Description:
George M. Modlin, University of Richmond Chancellor, is interviewed by alumna, Alice Justice Retzer. He discusses his hiring as a University of Richmond faculty member and his later appointment as University of Richmond President. Special emphasis is placed on Westhampton College and the importance of the coordinate system being maintained during his presidency. Dr. Modlin mentions longtime Westhampton faculty, Dr. Maude Woodman, Dean Marguerite Roberts, and Miss Caroline Lutz. The E. Claiborne Robins donation in 1969 is described, along with the Richmond College protest at his house following the May 9, 1970 Student Protest in Washington, D.C.
