Oral Histories - Westhampton College

Description: This collection of interviews, conducted between 1975 and 1988, documents the rich history of Westhampton College -- University of Richmond’s women's college. The recording of these interviews was spearheaded by a group of twenty of the earliest Westhampton alumnae, including Jane Stockman (W’58), Margaret Leake (W’31), and Claire Millhiser Rosenbaum (W’54). History professor Frances Gregory worked with the alumnae on setting up the project guidelines and purchasing recording equipment. Rosenbaum used these interviews in her book, “A Gem of a College: The History of Westhampton College 1914-1989.”
